For any traditional rites to work, there are very important things to know before doing a ritual. They are:

- Any ritual that requires that you would bath with the ritual water, please, do not use soap or sponge while bathing. Also, after bathing, do not towel dry your body or use cream on your body after doing ritual bathing. You must allow your body to dry on its own and do not apply any deodorant or any cream on your body.
- Abstain from sin like sex
- Be ready for the universe to bless you
- Materials used should be exclusive. Any material that you buy for the rites, please do not use it for kitchen. For example, if you buy salt or nut meg for kitchen use, do not use it for your work and vice versa.

Cleansing is very vital. Physical and Spiritual. You could still consider doing that for yourself and for your wife/family. Later on, you could start with your children. Once they are purged, good things and blessings would begin to follow them.
