Ose Oji (Alligator pepper) and Egg are often used for cleansing before any work or traditional job could be done in Igbo land.

If, the Alligator pepper has been open already, here are the procedure. Put seven (7) seed of the alligator pepper into your mouth and chew it and then take another seven (7) with your right hand and you it to wipe your body from head to toe. Rub it as if you are removing dust away from your body.
After wiping or cleansing yourself with the seven (7) seeds, throw it where nobody will match upon and then, you are good to go.
