The full synopsis: Glamour Girls Movie

The remake of the movie is in sync with the prevailing reality of the prostitution industry. Unlike the first one in 1994 which featured Eucharia Anunobi, this 2022 version of Glamour girls not only glamourizes whoredom; but it shows the desperation of girls acquiring money, which reflects what we see also in the Nollywood industry.
Glamour girls didn’t focus on the girls alone. It showed the sexual power of a girl towards men and how men were willing to get them, spend their wealth on them, but not entirely their wealth as the girls were in danger when billions of dollars couldn’t be retrieved.
The ability for the ladies to stand by each other and support Jemma in her situation, would make us understand, ‘girls supporting girls’ philosophy
Glamour Girls Movie show the symbiotic relationship that exist between men and women. It is like a win- win situation when one gives and take. Chief couldn’t help Jemma with her financial need unless she gives in and satisfies him.
While the movie glamourizes whore, it presents a better self of whore business when compared to Gangubai Kathiawadi, an Indian true-life story on how they started the move to legalize prostitution in India. The difference presents itself especially when dealing with girls of 14 years entering into prostitution unlike the Glamour Girls, supposedly girls of 18 years and above, cannot be compared.
Emma represent the vulnerable Nigerian young girl who should be redirected and not grounded into iniquity. Although, the scene showed how Jemma told her to get a job but telling her desperate moment wouldn’t make much sense, especially without proffering a better solution.
The society has decayed that no one cares about you, rather, you are expected to ‘you use what you have to get what you want’
The cinematography of the movie is great and the flow of the movie is excellent, but resent the fact that the viewers were left to answer and solve the puzzle relating to Alex Death is a bad idea. ‘Also, the quick acceptance of Donna over Jemma’s ‘unforgivable act’ in exchange for attending Chief’s party, will keep the viewers in shock. More so, the appearance of a 3rd flash drive was another questionable surprise to the viewers. Lastly, you may also wonder why Zeribe betrayed Emma when they appeared to be deeply in love.
Even after Emma got everything she desired, we didn’t see her doing anything for her family or see her appearance in the family again since that was part of what triggered her to visit Donna uninvited and to upgrade her prostitution business.
Putting the puzzle together, showing Ese’s ugly face at the party, the blood in the room and Ese’s trauma will only make you understand that Alex was a pedophile and probably threatened Ese not to speak if not he would be dead. The blood in the scene shows there was a fight and Alex died in the process.
The expensive outfit and clothes used in the movie reflected the story. It was classy. The Costume designer did well in the movie. Nevertheless, the makeup artists used her paints to describe certain situations in the movie especially with the facial transformation of Emma.
Donna never dressed like her girls, she was a really a boss and acted her role well. She had more corporate wears and even at the party, her gown was somewhat corporate look. She never acted as a prostitute. In fact, her company outlook was that of an interior designer and the inner look was that of a whore. She was professional in her role.

Final Verdict
Glamour Girls is a 6/10.
