Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Admits ChatGPT Hasn’t Helped Market Share
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took the stand in the Google antitrust trial on Thursday, where he admitted that ChatGPT has not helped the company’s market share in the search engine market.
Nadella was asked by Google’s lawyers whether ChatGPT had had a positive impact on Bing’s market share, and he replied, “No, it has not.”
This is a significant admission, as Microsoft has invested heavily in ChatGPT, and many analysts believed that it would be a game-changer for the company. However, it seems that ChatGPT has not yet been able to attract enough users to make a meaningful impact on Bing’s market share.
Nadella did say that he believes ChatGPT has the potential to revolutionize the search engine market, but he also acknowledged that it will take time for users to adopt the new technology.
“We believe ChatGPT is a transformative technology, and we are committed to investing in it,” Nadella said. “However, we also know that it will take time for users to adopt new technologies. We are patient, and we believe that ChatGPT will eventually become the dominant search engine technology.”
It remains to be seen whether Nadella’s prediction will come true. However, his admission that ChatGPT has not yet helped Bing’s market share is a setback for the company.
