Animals that can live after death- WHY YOU SHOULDN’T KILL FLATWORMS

There are animals that live after death. Flatworm has a unique characteristics. It sounds impossible but there are animals who can live after death. I will share with you some animals that are literally immortals. They can live without some body parts and come back to life for a short time.

  1. Alligators: Alligators spend most of their time in the water. Have you imagined how they survive during winter? At this point, the alligator is literally frozen for that winter period. This is a process called Brumation. This is similar to hibernation but for reptiles. Once the temperature is heated, these animals come back to life. So, next time you are ice skating, make sure you don’t fall prey or alligator during brumation. They may be frozen but still deadly.

  2. Chicken: You may have heard the phrase, “running around like headless chicken’ Well, chicken can live without their heads. Sometimes for a long time. Chicken does not need a head to live because their central nervous system is different from humans. How does it feed? Well, the farmer feed it through the neck hole, he uses an eye dropper with crushed food and water and feed it every hour.
  3. Salamanders: They are amazing because they can regenerate body parts even after being chopped of. Because of these features, many say Salamanders are immortals. Some say the grown parts can function better than the original parts which makes them stronger.

  4. Snakes: Snakes is dangerous on their own. However, there are some snakes that can kill you even with their heads chopped off. This means that you can be bitten by a headless venomous snake. Their heads can stay up for hours.
  5. Flies: You probably have seen magic tricks where a magician brings back dead fly to life. When flies are frozen, they go into a state of suspended hibernation. They are sort of alive and sort of dead. Females can live without their heads for several days. They can also walk and fly without their heads.
  6. Cockroaches: Cockroaches are very tricky creatures. They can even survive in nuclear bomb disaster. They can also live without their heads for days and weeks. They don’t bleed too because their wounds naturally close up. They have small holes in their body called ‘Spiracles’ which allows them to live in for a very long time.
  7. Octopus: Sometimes when an octopus has been killed and cooked, it will still move. This is because they have unique nervous system. 2/3 or their nerve cells are in the tentacles. This is why they are responsive to stimuli even without a brain.
  8. Ocean Quahog: This is an amazing species of edible clam. It can be found in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. These animals are basically immortal. They can stay for over 500 years. They can live so long because of their unique cell membrane. Their membrane doesn’t deteriorate over time unlike some other animals
  9. Frogs: You can remove a frog brain and it will still move, jump and swim.
  10. Flatworms: Many believe that if you cut an earthworm into two pieces, it will make two worms. That’s not true for earth worms but it is true for flat worms. If you cut a flatworm into two, the tail portion will grow a head. It was discovered that Scientist made 20,000 flatworms out of just one.

  11. Scorpions: Humans cannot survive without eating for one month but scorpion can survive for a year just eating once. It can live in very hot condition and can also survive in cold weather. Sometimes, scorpion can freeze and survive after being de-frozen. This is why scorpions are called master of adaptation.
